Diamond Head State Park to temporarily close this spring

オアフ島のダイヤモンドヘッド・ステートモニュメントについて、

ハワイ州当局は12日、来月から4月にかけて、

平日を中心にトレイルなどへの入場を制限して、落石事故を防ぐための工事を行うと発表しました。

州当局によりますと、訪れる人の安全を確保するため、

カハラトンネル周辺で岩を固定させるなどの工事が行われます。

工事のため、来月から４月にかけて、入場が制限されます。

全面的な閉鎖は、3月が4日から7日までと、11日から14日まで、いずれも火曜日から金曜日です。

４月は、1日から4日、８日から１１日のいずれも火曜日から金曜日、

14日月曜日から17日木曜日までです。

春休み期間中の3月17日から28日までは、入場が出来ることになっています。

また、３月３日、１０日、３１日、４月７日、１４日の月曜日と、４月１８日金曜日は、

午後２時から入場が出来なくなる予定です。

ダイヤモンドヘッド・ステートモニュメントの落石事故を防ぐ工事は、

総事業費５６０万ドルをかけて、１月６日から行われていています。

州当局によりますと、工事完了は、７月末の見込みです。

The Diamond Head State Monument will see temporary full and partial closures through March and April for rockfall mitigation.

Closures are necessary for contractors to stabilize loose rocks around the Kahala tunnel while ensuring public safety.

Visitors will be prohibited park entry during the full closures.

Employees will have access through the Kapahulu tunnel between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Full park closures are scheduled for the following dates:

The park will not see full closures during the week of spring break from Mar. 17, to Mar. 28.

Partial park closures means the park will close at 2 p.m. the following dates:

The $5.6 million project began on Jan. 6, and is expected to last through the end of July.
