OHANA INTERVIEW – ハワイと広島の学生の交流-

広島県の支援を得て、世界の広島県人会の学生は毎年夏休みに広島で集っています。対象学生は、広島県人会のメンバーまたは、その家族である事。今年は、ホノルル広島県人会からは、サイアン・柴田さん（ハワイ大学で初等教育科在籍）とティアラ・中村さん（ワシントン大学で電気工学科に在籍）の2名。ハワイ島のヒロ広島県人会からは、マヤ・アトワルさん（サンディエゴ大学で生物学専攻）、以上3名の大学生が7月下旬から広島に滞在し、8月6日の平和記念式典にも参列されました。参加学生は、ハワイの他には、シアトル、オレゴン、サクラメント、ブラジル、メキシコ、アルゼンチンからの23名。ハワイに戻られてから、広島の滞在を振り返ってお話をしていただきました。まずは、引率をされた、広島県人会のダイレクター、岡村智恵美さんのお声からお聞きください。

With support from Hiroshima Prefecture, Hiroshima Kenjinkai students from around the world gather in Hiroshima every summer during their summer vacation. Eligible students or their families must be members of the Hiroshima Kenjinkai.  This year, there were two people from the Honolulu Hiroshima kenjinkai: Syan Shibata (elementary education major at the University of Hawaii) and Tiara Nakamura (electrical engineering major at the University of Washington). The Hilo-Hiroshima Kenjinkai on the Big Island was represented by Maya Atwal (biology major at the University of San Diego) All three university students stayed in Hiroshima from late July and attended the Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6th.  In addition to Hawaii, there were 23 students from Seattle, Oregon, Sacramento, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina. After returning to Hawaii, the students looked back on their stay in Hiroshima and talked with us.  First, please hear from Chiemi Okamura, director of the Hiroshima Kenjinkai, who led the tour.
