山頂付近には、ウインターウェザー注意報が出されていました。
気象局によりますと、１３日、ハワイ島のマウナケア山の山頂付近で雪が降り、夜までの降雪量が場所によっては、１インチを超える見込みだと発表しました。
マウナケア山の山頂付近で撮影された画像には、この時期には珍しい春の雪が積もっています。
悪天候のため、マウナケアアクセスロードは、標高9２００フィート以上の道路が閉鎖されています。
